Tech Mahindra CEO and MD Mohit Joshi took home a hefty Rs 52.1 crore in FY25, as per the company’s latest annual report, a figure that’s 840 times the median employee salary at the firm. His compensation includes ESOP perks and reflects a widening income gap at one of India’s top five IT companies.

What’s striking is not just the size of Joshi’s paycheque, but the backdrop. Tech Mahindra’s median employee salary fell 6.52% in the same year. That juxtaposition is hard to ignore, especially in an industry where frontline talent forms the bedrock of service delivery.

While Joshi’s exact year-on-year salary jump wasn’t reported, owing to his partial tenure in the previous year (from June 19, 2023) comparisons with peers put his compensation in sharper relief.

Wipro’s Srinivas Pallia earned slightly more at Rs 53.6 crore (up 10%), while Infosys’ Salil Parekh led the chart with Rs 80.6 crore (up 22%) and TCS CEO K Krithivasan earned Rs 26.5 crore (up 4.6%).

Joshi is also entitled to an annual stock option grant of $3.5 million (approximately Rs 29 crore), vesting over three years, suggesting that the total compensation pie could get even bigger.

Tech Mahindra CEO Mohit Joshi earns Rs 52.1 cr in FY25, 840X median employee pay

Air India's Chief Executive Officer Campbell Wilson witnessed a 46% hike in his paycheck a fortnight before the airline's worst crash in Ahmedabad on 12 June 2025. The Tata-owned company increased the salary of Wilson from Rs 18.98 crore in fiscal year 2024 to Rs 27.75 crore in FY 2025.

Wilson's salary package includes a fixed salary of Rs 11.1 crore, performance-linked bonuses of Rs 8.32 crore, and long-term stock incentives of Rs 8.32 crore with effect from April 1, 2025.

According to the Livemint report, Wilson's pay package is among the highest for top airline executives in the country.

Budget airline IndiGo, owned by InterGlobe paid salary to CEO Pieter Elbers Rs 21.61 crore in 2024. 

On the other hand, Akasa Air's founder and CEO Vinay Dube's remuneration was Rs 8.75 crore in 2024 while SpiceJet's chairman and managing director, Ajay Singh, salary package was Rs 5.4 crore in the same period.

Meanwhile, the aviation safety watchdog, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has increased scrutiny of Air India's aircraft, crew training duty hours, etc following the tragic crash, which killed 241 people on board and over 30 on the ground.

The Tata-owned airline has also reduced its operation temporarily with 118 weekly flights on 19 routes in order to focus on maintenance and safety compliance during this period.

Tata Sons spend Rs 18,000 crore to buy government-owned Air India, via its fully owned subsidiary, Talace Private Limited (“Talace)” in 2022. Later, it merged Vistara airline at a 51:49 joint venture between the salt-to-steel conglomerate and Singapore Airlines with Air India.

The Tata Group has made several efforts to rebrand Air India after taking control of the airline. The Group signed an agreement in 2023, acquiring 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing. Air India's orders include 34 A350-1000, six A350-900, 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 10 Boeing 777X widebody aircraft, 140 Airbus A320neo, 70 Airbus A321neo and 190 Beoing 737MAX narrowbody aircraft.

Air India CEO's pay rises to Rs 27.75 crore days before tragic crash in Ahmedabad

KFC and Pizza Hut chain operator Devyani International Limited has raised a stake in Sky Gate Hospitality Private Limited (“Sky Gate”) along with its subsidiaries. DIL on Tuesday announced that it will be acquiring 86.13% equity stake in Sky Gate on a fully diluted basis for Rs 106.25 crore, according to the regulatory filing.

Post the acquisition, Sky Gate along with its subsidiaries Blackvelvet Hospitality Private Limited, Say Chefs Eatery Private Limited; Peanutbutter and Jelly Private Limited will become subsidiaries of Devyani International.

Dominic Proctor, a towering figure in the evolution of modern media agencies and one of the most influential executives in WPP's history, has passed away, as per media reports. 

His career spanned more than three decades, during which he played a pivotal role in shifting the balance of power within the advertising world - from creative to media.

Proctor began his journey at JWT, then the UK's largest ad agency, rising to become the London CEO at the young age of 35. Known for his sharp mind and personable leadership style, he led the agency through an era of transformation, navigating the shift from traditional full-service models to a more specialized and globally integrated media focus.

He then later became the founding CEO of Mindshare, WPP's first standalone media agency, created by combining the media departments of JWT and Ogilvy. His vision for media as a strategic driver helped elevate Mindshare into a global force. 

Proctor then went on to serve as Global President of GroupM, where he led the conglomeration of WPP's media investments until 2016, cementing its place as a dominant player in the industry.

Paying tribute on social media, WPP CEO Mark Read wrote, "“Dominic Proctor was first and foremost a dear friend and colleague to countless people across the world of advertising. He was also one of the most influential people in the global media and marketing industry – very few have done more to shape the media planning and buying landscape we see today."

Beyond the boardroom, Proctor dedicated himself to charitable causes. He was a co-founder and long-time chair of Tommy's, the UK-based pregnancy and baby charity. 

"On behalf of everyone at WPP I would like to express my condolences to Dominic’s family and friends. As the tributes pour in I know that, alongside the deep sadness and loss, there will be so much admiration, respect and affection for a truly remarkable person," Read added.

Dominic Proctor, visionary media leader and WPP veteran, passes away

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is facing internal dissent and backlash from employees over his growing public alignment with conservative politics and controversial internet personalities, according to a report by the Financial Times.

More than 40 current and former employees described a deep sense of "betrayal," "horror," and "grieving" over Zuckerberg's recent rhetoric and behaviour, with many reportedly stunned by what they described as a dramatic political and cultural transformation.

Internally dubbed "MAGA Mark," Zuckerberg has drawn ire for his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, where he criticized corporate America for being "culturally neutered" and called for more "masculine energy" in the workplace - a comment that reportedly sparked heated discussions inside Meta.

"He basically said: "If you don't like it, tough s**t," one staffer told FT, recalling Zuckerberg's dismissive response when confronted with employee concerns during an internal meeting.

Many insiders believe Zuckerberg's shift is, in part, a reaction to the cult-like admiration surrounding Elon Musk, who is frequently portrayed as the bold and unfiltered icon of Silicon Valley. "The core of The Social Network movie is true - he just wants people to like him," said one source, the report added.

The ideological pivot has reportedly disillusioned many long-time employees who once saw Zuckerberg as a champion of social justice and progressive tech values. "We are, they say, witnessing a Revenge of the Nerds-style midlife crisis," the report noted, describing his recent persona as one that leans into the "manosphere," a network of anti-woke, alpha-male influencers.

Adding to the chorus of criticism, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov told French outlet Le Point that while Zuckerberg is adaptable and quick to catch trends, "he seems to lack fundamental values that he would remain faithful to, regardless of changes in the political climate or tech industry trends."

Mark Zuckerberg faces internal flak at Meta over political stance: Report

Online brokerage firm, Zerodha's co-founders Nikhil Kamath and Nithin Kamath have picked up a minor stake in InCred Holdings, a non-banking financial company (NBFC) focused on consumer, education, and SME lending.

The Kamath brothers purchased shares worth Rs 250 crore in the holding company of InCred Financial Services Ltd (IFSL).

Since the credit system is rapidly changing in India, Nikhil Kamath said, "InCred Group seems to get that. They’ve built a strong team, a technology-first approach, and a clear view of where the market is headed. Backing them is a bet on that broader shift—and the belief that responsible lending can scale without losing sight of fundamentals.” 

Founded in 2016 by Bhupinder Singh, InCred Group has built a diversified lending platform serving retail and MSME borrowers across India.

The creative agency is founded by Mumbai-based comedy group company All India Bakchod (AIB)'s executives Aakash Shah and Naveed Manakkodan.

Kamath has actively supported young entrepreneurs and has invested in their ventures. The 38-year-old entrepreneur has formed WTFund under which he provides grants up to Rs 20 lakh, along with mentorship to startup founders.

In February, WTFund unveiled its second cohort consisting of 22 under-25 promising founders for grant funding and mentorship, including Bytes, Ai.gnosis, among others.

Nikhil, Nithin Kamath invest Rs 250 crore in InCred Holdings ahead of IPO

Prada has announced that Gianfranco D’Attis, CEO of its flagship brand, will step down at the end of June by mutual agreement. As per a report by Reuters, the reins will temporarily pass to Prada Group CEO Andrea Guerra, who will take over brand leadership on an interim basis.

D’Attis’ exit is the latest in a string of high-profile leadership changes as luxury houses retool their C-suites and creative benches to regain consumer momentum amid slowing demand and rising economic pressure.

Prada's Gianfranco D'Attis to step down as CEO

Frederick Wallace Smith, the revolutionary founder of FedEx Corporation, passed away on June 21, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee, at 80.

Smith died of natural causes, leaving behind a global company, an industry he created, and a legacy that will influence generations of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators.

Frederick W. Smith, born on August 11, 1944, in Marks, Mississippi, and raised in Memphis, was a visionary from a young age. After enrolling at Yale in 1962 to study economics, he conceptualized an integrated air-to-ground delivery system - the blueprint for what would become FedEx Express.

Before launching his iconic business, Smith served four years in the United States Marine Corps, completing two tours in Vietnam and earning high military honors including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts. He often credited his time in the Marines as his real business education.

In 1973, Smith launched Federal Express with just 14 jets. Under his leadership, the company scaled with astonishing speed and discipline, evolving into FedEx. With over 500,000 employees, operations in more than 220 countries and territories, and over 17 million shipments moved daily, FedEx became not only a logistical powerhouse but also a symbol of speed, reliability, and innovation.

Smith was instrumental in embedding a customer-first culture within the company. The famed "Purple Promise" and the People-Service-Profit philosophy became foundational pillars for FedEx and were emulated by businesses worldwide.

Smith's foresight in leveraging technology, commitment to service excellence, and focus on people helped FedEx became one of the most admired companies globally.

He stepped down as CEO in 2022 after one of the longest tenures among Fortune 100 leaders, transitioning to the role of Executive Chairman.

Smith’s influence extended far beyond the business realm. He was a prominent voice on public policy and international business relations, serving on numerous councils and boards, including the Business Roundtable, the U.S.-China Business Council, and the International Air Transport Association. 

He was also a director on the boards of companies like General Mills and AutoZone and served nonprofits such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Mayo Foundation.

His civic and philanthropic impact, particularly in his hometown of Memphis, was profound. Smith was a major force behind initiatives in education, healthcare, the arts, and community development. 

His commitment to honoring veterans and the military was deeply personal - seen in his leadership of the U.S. World War II Memorial project and the National Museum of the Marine Corps campaign.

Although widely regarded as one of Memphis’ most influential figures, Smith preferred to stay out of the limelight, focusing his time and energy on building his business and cherishing his family life.

Still, he made a rare on-screen appearance with a cameo in the 2000 film *Cast Away*, starring Tom Hanks — a story centered around a FedEx employee stranded on a remote island, underscoring the brand's cultural imprint.

Fred Smith, FedEx founder who transformed global commerce, dies at 80

Accenture has announced its Quarter 3 result for calendar year 2025. The company's revenue increased by 8% to $17.7 billion year-on-year in Q4 2025, driven by the growing demand for AI-led services.

Accenture follows a fiscal year that ends on August 31.

Geographically, the consulting firm clocked $8.97 billion in revenue from the USA market, followed by Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region at $6.23 billion, and Asia Pacific at $2.53 billion.

Accenture's top-performing segment was Products, registering $5.34 billion in revenue. Financial Services and Health & Public Service recorded 13% growth each.

The new bookings witnessed a 6% decline at $19,7 billion during the quarter, while, the generative AI new bookings stood at $1.5 billion.

The global professional services company has decided to promote almost 50,000 people worldwide in June after a six-month delay.

The promotion includes its 15,000 workforce in India. Accenture employs about 801,000 people around the globe, and the promotion will comprise 6% of the total workforce.

Accenture's Q3 FY25 revenue surges 8% to $17.7 billion, driven by AI-led services

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday signed an executive order extending the deadline for ByteDance, the China-based parent company of TikTok, to divest the popular app's U.S. assets until September 17, according to media reports.

This marks the third such extension despite a federal law that mandated a sale or shutdown by January 19.

The extension gives TikTok a fresh 90-day reprieve amid stalled negotiations and geopolitical tensions. It also reflects Trump's continued interest in keeping the app - widely used by younger voters and credited with bolstering his support base during the 2024 election - available in the United States.

TikTok, in a statement on its website, thanked President Trump for his "leadership and support in ensuring that TikTok continues to be available." The company confirmed that it is working closely with Vice President JD Vance's office to reach a viable solution, the report added.

The latest move comes after months of uncertainty. Trump had first delayed enforcement of the law in April, then again in June, as attempts to create a U.S.-based spin-off entity for TikTok - majorly owned by American investors - ran into roadblocks, including objections from Beijing.

The 2024 law mandated TikTok be sold or shut down due to national security concerns over user data and its Chinese ownership. The Biden administration previously pushed for similar measures, but Trump - now his second term - chose not to enforce the shutdown upon taking office on January 20.

Back in March, Trump had hinted he might reduce tariffs on Chinese imports in exchange for progress on the TikTok deal. However, subsequent announcements of new tariffs reportedly led Chinese officials to back away from approving any transaction.

Some Democratic lawmakers have raised legal concerns over Trump's repeated extensions. questioning whether the current deal under consideration would meet the statute's strict requirements or if the president even has authority to override the timeline, the report added.

As of now, TikTok remains operational in the U.S., with 170 million Americans using the app.
